WAYNE DORMAN - FOUNDER
Born and raised in South Africa, Wayne pursued a post secondary education in hotel management at a world-renowned school in Switzerland. Following work experience sponsorships in Switzerland, Australia, England, and South Africa, Wayne earned employment at several leading hospitality establishments in Vancouver, British Columbia. His journey into the canine world began in 2003 after he was involved in a serious car accident. During his lengthy recovery period, he acquired a dog named Kingsley, a Beagle that had been written off as ‘untrainable’ by other top dog handlers. Over time, Wayne persuaded his unruly Beagle to become a well behaved and well socialized member of the family. Simultaneously, he discovered his life’s true calling. Wayne founded Dogzies in 2005, to serve and support dog owners of Kelowna and the Okanagan. Both Kingsley and Mia were a vital part of his pack.
Since then, Wayne has observed, assessed, and trained over 10 thousand dogs in Canada and around the world. He has rigorously pursued his passion, travelling the world and learning cutting-edge training methods. He has had the privilege of working with experts in the field and has had many students from around the world shadow his techniques. He has hosted and taught many international workshops, locally, other provinces, and in South Africa, with his expertise being requested around the world on a daily basis.
From socializing new puppies to rehabilitating rescue dogs, Wayne has seen it all. He has often been the last resort for desperate owners, some considering euthanasia as the only solution to canine behavioural problems. Through his unique training methodology, Wayne has saved the lives of countless dogs.
